Shore Hire’s Aluminium Vertical Shores are the quickest, simplest and safest method of shoring a trench or excavation and contribute to cost savings for our clients time and again.

Aluminium vertical shores work by supporting the side walls of a trench through the use of hydraulic pressure. Built from lightweight aluminum alloy, vertical shores provide portability and strength advantages and prevent cave-ins within all but the most unstable soil conditions. They are quick and simple to use and can be installed safely by one person from beside the top of the trench using a hydraulic hand pump, with gauged pressure ensuring even load allocation to walls.

This simple method of installation means the trench is safely shored up while the excavator continues to dig at full capacity, thereby maximising efficiency. It also maintains vertical trench sides, preventing soil movement and optimising workspace.

Trench sheets are used in conjunction with vertical shores to help distribute the load.

Aluminium vertical shores are designed for shoring of vertical trenches as well as less uniform excavations. They can be used for spot bracing, production trenching and offer versatility when restrictions are imposed by space or parallel or crossing utilities, particularly when combined with other trench shoring systems. In stable soils aluminium vertical shores can be used directly against a trench face.

The Aluminium Vertical Shores can be delivered standalone or as as part of our comprehensive full-service solution. This includes:

  • Free on-site assessment
  • Engineering design
  • Delivery
