The Situation

We were called by the  contractor specialising in remedial and civil engineering services as they required an existing prefabricated concrete bridge at a Westfield site to be lifted for the purpose of replacing the existing bearing plates

The Solution

Shore Hire provided an engineered solution consisting of hardwood sleepers as a timber base pad, a Shore 400 support tower and hydraulic jacks to lift the concrete bridge sections. Shore Hire's team of qualified riggers assembled the temporary support structure and carried out the bridge lift.

The Result

By creating the temporary structural tower and lifting the concrete bridge within the confines of a single lane, the contractor was able to maintain the flow of traffic on a main road at all times and minimise vehicle and pedestrian disturbance in an operating shopping centre car park.
