Taronga Zoo

The Situation

As part of a redesign and rebuild of the elephant enclosure at Taronga Zoo to accommodate new elephant arrivals, propping support was required for a number of architecturally designed pre-cast panels. The 8m height and significant weight of the panels, as well as the unique design of the structure, posed challenges to the contractor on this project.

The Solution

Shore Hire specified its Shore 100 system for use as racking props for the pre-cast panels, working with renowned engineers Henry and Hymas for design and sign off on the unique brace design.

The Result

The flexibility of the Shore 100 system was on full display as a raking prop system, with the unique configuration of the pre-cast panels achieved seamlessly. The lightweight and easy installation of the Shore 100 system ensured efficient assembly and disassembly times.
