PipeLine Testing

Description

Pipeline testing is the process of testing residential, commercial or industrial piping systems either during pre-commissioning, to test flow or to detect problems such as leaks.

Usage

Pipelines need to be tested before and during service and maintained should a problem occur. Many commercial and industrial pipes require regular testing and this has become a matter of course where maximising flow rates of pipes impacts the bottom line. One of the most common pipeline testing methods is the use of pneumatic test plugs – a process sometimes referred to as ‘pigging’. Test plugs can be used for cleaning, leak location, bypassing, flow control or pipeline testing using water, air or vacuum. These test plugs can be used for testing and maintenance on pipelines without interrupting the flow of the pipe.
