Trench Shoring & Equipment

Description

Trench shoring is a method of bracing a trench wall to prevent collapse and protect workers. Trench shoring is used in a range of ground works and excavation situations, from laying construction foundations to utility and pipe maintenance.

Usage

Trench shoring is used extensively in the construction industry, to not only protect workers on the trench floor but to maintain the trench for construction or maintenance activities. Trenches are excavated for a number of reasons: to access utilities or pipes for maintenance, to install pipes or other infrastructure, or during the construction of foundations for buildings.

Trenches can be shored using a number of products, including simple timber shoring, purpose built trench boxes and manhole boxes and hydraulic shoring systems that can be installed by a single person standing beside a trench. The choice of trench shoring method will depend on the application, what infrastructure and services are present in the trench, how long the trench will remain shored and the project’s budget.
